Aegis Combat Systems Engineer

Join our dynamic team at ManTech International, where innovation meets excellence in the realm of advanced engineering. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled US Navy Combat Systems Engineer to collaborate on cutting-edge projects involving Naval Surface combat systems development.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide systems engineering support in all applicable warfare mission areas and to both new construction and in-service ships.
- Support the full acquisition life-cycle, including all technical processes and technical management processes defined in Defense Acquisition Guidebook (DAG), and encompass derivation of operational need to delivery of capability.
- Support the review and development of engineering change proposals, ship change documents, interface change requests, design specification changes, inputs into interface specifications, and fleet advisories.
- Use AutoCAD to support the development of notional space arrangement plan views, elevation views, and cable block diagrams. Provide on-site installation support for systems and equipment being installed aboard ship and provide report of accomplishments/findings. This work includes modernization upgrades, in-service upgrades, new baseline engineering, and providing detailed analysis and reports for future installations.
- Support the technical team, applying mission and operational knowledge and context, to evaluate designs, identify technical issues and associated recommendations, and to conduct engineering performance studies and analyses on combat system improvements to new systems, or of existing systems throughout the systems engineering process (end to end).
- Perform engineering review and critique of combat system proposals and efforts, identifying engineering shortfalls, key trade requirements, additional option considerations, and general assessments of concepts/ideas and methodologies being pursued.
- Work across the entire organization or program to gather and assess information relative to the ability of the combat system to meet its intended need.
- Participate in combat system test events, including preparation, execution, and report generation.
Basic Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in a technical field with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in a U.S. Navy Combat Systems or equivalent education and years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Experience developing plan view drawings, elevation view drawings, and cable block diagrams using AutoCAD.
- Must have access to NDE (Navy Data Environment) and other databases to pull drawings, SCDs (Ship Change Document), Letters of Authorization, installation schedules, and other information as needed in support of ship integration activities.
- Experience interfacing with ships, TYCOMs, PMR Representatives, etc. to set up and lead ship visits as required.
- Must be able to travel as required primarily within CONUS; Up to 25% to Norfolk, Mayport, San Diego, Pearl Harbor, and other sites as needed.
- Experience performing Tactical Advisor Teams (TAT) reviews.
Clearance Requirements:
- Current and active Secret security clearance.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
- Often positions self to maintain computers in the lab, including under the desks and in the server closet.
- Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- May be asked to move Audio/Visual or Computer equipment.
