Job Details

Responsibilities:

As the Chief Accounting Officer, you will be responsible for:

1. Overseeing all accounting operations of the company including billing, financial reporting, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and revenue recognition.
2. Coordinating with external auditors to ensure all audit issues are resolved, and all compliance issues are met, and the preparation of the annual financial statements is in accordance with U.S. GAAP and federal, state and other required supplementary schedules and information.
3. Ensuring the company is in compliance with all SEC reporting requirements including 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K filings and proxy statements.
4. Developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive job cost system.
5. Directing the company's financial planning and budgeting processes.
6. Developing and managing financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures.
7. Communicating financial metrics to senior management and the board of directors.
8. Managing relationships with insurance providers and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
9. Overseeing the company's transaction processing systems.

Qualifications:

To be considered for the Chief Accounting Officer position, candidates must possess:

1. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. An MBA or Master’s degree in Accounting is highly desirable.
2. An active CPA certification.
3. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably within the energy industry.
4. Prior public accounting experience.
5. Proven experience in coordinating with external auditors and managing SEC reporting.
6. Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
7. Experience with public company transformation (IPO).
8. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
9. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
10. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
11. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
