Join our team at TLC Truck & Equipment as a Diesel Mechanic. We are a Commercial Truck Dealership/Body Company seeking a skilled individual to maintain and repair diesel engines and Trucks. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and functionality of our fleet.

What You’ll Do

• Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and tune-ups.
• 
  Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on diesel vehicles.
• 
  Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and other parts to identify issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
• 
  Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
• 
  Collaborate with the service team to prioritize and complete repairs efficiently.
• 
  Perform minor component repair and all aspects of preventative maintenance, refrigerated and non-powered truck and trailer equipment in the industry.
• 
  Inspect, diagnose, and repair brake systems, engines, electrical components, cooling systems, steering systems, transmissions, and tires, etc.
• 
  Perform diagnostic tests for routine maintenance procedures and determine a course of action for damaged parts and systems.
• 
  Repair malfunctioning components, retrofit engines, change brakes, adjust steering systems, oil changes, replace worn-out parts and change hydraulic fluids.
• 
  Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.

What We’re Looking For

• Must have diesel truck experience.
• Must have experience with diagnostic computers (i.e.,
• Cummins, Hino, Isuzu software is a plus)
• At least 2 + years or more in the trade *ASE certification in the truck and/or automotive industry is a plus but not a requirement.
• Carrier & Thermo king experience is a major plus.
• Must be able to test drive trucks before and after repairs, - valid driver’s license is required.
• Experience in the commercial truck/truck equipment industry.
• Experience with lathes, welding torches, and machine shop equipment is a plus.
• Must be efficient and detail oriented with the capability to multitask.
• Must be able to frequently stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Anything above 50 pounds will require the assistance of a team member or a forklift, etc. if necessary.
• Knowledge of forklift operation preferred.
• Demonstrate willingness to work with others.
• Must be dependable, be a team player and have a positive attitude and willingness to grow in position along with strong work ethics and commitment to work the hours necessary to accomplish the job duties.
• Rely on communication, experience, and judgment to plan and accomplish the task at hand.
• Must be able to complete employment application and pass a drug test.
• Will be expected to supply their own set of tools commonly used in the performance of truck/automotive repair work.
  CDL License is a major plus but not a requirement.
