Salary: $22-28/hour

Pomponio Ranch North (PRN) is an incredible property beautifully situated in the coastal range of San Gregorio. We’re in search of an experienced Equine Ranch Hand/Groom who is passionate about the care, health, and development of show jumping horses. The primary responsibilities for this role are grooming horses for our team of riders and, secondarily to act as an extra hand to help out with other equine activities around the barn. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provide exceptional grooming services to support the trainers
• Groom responsibilities, e.g., lunge, bandage, wrap, administering therapies, etc.
• General Horse assistance, including but not limited to: 
  • Feeding horses, 
  • Turning horses out in pastures, bringing horses in from pastures, and helping move them to different pastures
  • Care and exercise of horses
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment for all animals on the Ranch
• Miscellaneous ranch work as needed

Qualifications/Requirements:

• At least 1-2 years of experience and knowledge of caring for equines.
• Basic knowledge and experience as a groom for show jumping horses.
• Knowledge of safe work practices around horses and other livestock
• Experience in monitoring animal appearance/behavior and communicating any necessary information to superiors
• Strong communication skills
• Work effectively with minimal supervision, self-motivated and self-starter
• Strong commitment to teamwork
• Ability to adhere to the organization's policies, procedures, and regulations
• Flexibility in work schedule.
