FT Nanny Needed in Woodinville

A professional and adventurous family in the Woodinville area is searching for their next full time, long term nanny! These kind and laid pack parents are looking for an experienced, engaging and nurturing nanny to care for their adorable 2-year old daughter and infant daughter born in July.

THE DETAILS

Location: Woodinville, 98077

Start Date: ASAP but will wait for the right candidate!

Children: Two year old and infant girls

Schedule & Hours: Monday - Friday from 9am to 5pm.

Compensation: $30- $35 per hour DOE

Benefits: PTO (2 weeks paid vacation, Sick Days, Paid Holidays/Observed Holidays, Guaranteed Hours)

Duration: Long-term, one-year commitment or longer desired

Work from home : Both parents work at home in dedicated home offices. Both parents have busy jobs and strive to provide an autonomous work environment for their nanny!

Pets: One golden retriever and one chihuahua

Driving: Nanny must have a valid driver's license, auto insurance, and a responsible driving record. The family will provide car seats and reimburse for mileage while on the job (preschool drop-offs, activities that require driving).

About the Family: Their daughter LOVES being outside and exploring! She is easy going, loves to chat, and is sweet and loving. She's happiest on walks, playing in the backyard, going on outdoor adventures (rain and shine - puddle splashing!), being read to, collecting flowers (and interesting rocks) or playing with her two sweet dogs, a golden retriever named Theo and a chihuahua named Griffin.

Mom works for Microsoft and loves spending time with her family, trying new activities and traveling. She is a kind and direct communicator and values honest conversations.

Dad loves going to Sounders games, skiing, road trips and exploring new places as a family. He also values communication.

Together, they love taking their 2 year old to fun parent/child activities like gymnastics, ballet, music and toddler groups. They very much value the time they get to all spend together.

The Ideal Nanny for this family: The right fit for this family is calm, professional, nurturing, engaging and a solid communicator. Their family and home runs smoothly with routine and predictability, so someone reliable/dependable is a must. The parents are hoping to find a true family partner that will stay long term and will grow with the family.

Their ideal nanny is experienced balancing the needs of a toddler and newborn and will find ways to make the days for their kids that is routine based but full of adventure and learning - whether that's making a story come alive or going for a walk in the rain and seeing how many puddles you can find to splash in and so much more.

The right candidate for this family also has a pitch-in attitude and while the household duties are mostly limited to child-related tasks, they want someone who has a natural inclination to help out where needed (and especially if the parents have time in their busy days to take a small family walk or there is other down time).

Willing to travel with the family and/or dog sit, that's a huge bonus!

No, both of us are not religious. We will need our nanny to respect not discussing religion with our kids as we prefer to facilitate those conversations on our own.

What are the main challenges your nanny might face when caring for your child/ren (e.g., separation anxiety, discipline, etc.)? Our daughter is used to being an only child, so having to share the adult attention might be an adjustment for her. There will also be quite a few changes in her day-to-day routine between the new sibling, starting preschool and getting a new nanny so we need someone who can help her navigate all of these!

Do you require your nanny to have certain vaccinations? Yes. We require TDaP, Flu/Covid vaccinations

TYPICAL DAILY SCHEDULE

7-8am: Wake up, eat breakfast

9am: Nanny arrives. Go to the playground, library, or stroll around the neighborhood

10am: Constructive, enriching activities. Art, music, workbooks, sensory activities, etc. - we can help plan these, but suggestions from our nanny are always appreciated!

11am: Indoor free time - books, toys, etc.

11:30am: Lunch

12:30pm: Cleanup: dishes, tidy play area, laundry (~1x per week), etc. (once the oldest starts school, pickup will be at this time)

1pm: Nap/quiet time

3pm: Wake up, snack

3:30pm: Outdoor play - usually in our backyard, garden, etc.

4:30pm: Bath

5pm: Nanny leaves. We try to be available around 4:45 to allow time for debrief and

goodbyes.

7pm: Family dinner

8pm: Bedtime

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide nurturing and supportive childcare and of course, fun!
  • Assist in potty training
  • Facilitate the schedules/routines as provided by parents
  • Communicate effectively and often with parents
  • Meal prep for the children
  • Driving to/from activities with the children
  • Tidying of common areas, children's bedrooms and play spaces
  • Washing, folding and putting away of children's laundry
  • Loading/unloading dishwasher and tidying kitchen as needed

Requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Be energetic and outgoing with a self-directed personality and a "can do" attitude
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of professional childcare experience (specifically balancing the needs of an infant and toddler)
  • Have a solid grasp/understanding of child development/ages
  • Have stellar references
  • Have a responsible driving record and be willing to provide a complete driving history report from the DOL (there is a $13 fee for this report and will be reimbursed if you accept the position)
  • Infant and Child CPR/First Aid Certified (or willingness to renew at your own expense before starting the position)
  • Willingness to submit to a thorough background check
  • Fully Vaccinated
  • Ability to make at least a one year commitment
  • Non-smoking
