This position is classified as salaried, exempt. The hiring salary range for this role is anticipated to be $100,000-$120,000 dependent upon experience and qualifications. Position Summary: DeSimone Consulting Engineering is seeking a Project Manager to join our New York office. Qualified candidates will investigate, evaluate, and prepare design solutions, while providing construction administration for exterior building envelope components, including walls, fenestration, roofing, and waterproofing. Responsibilities include close collaboration with architects, engineers, owners, and developers at all project phases to deliver faade and building envelope systems that address architectural intent, long term performance, constructability, sustainability, scheduling, and budget objectives.
Position Duties and Responsibilities: - Possesses awareness of project sequence, pace, processes, timing of deliverables, and how to support the project at the right time
- Responsible for timely execution and delivery of tasks and deliverables to external teams. Perform production tasks (if needed) to assist in meeting deadlines. Plan and coordinate work in a manner where the work is divided and broken-off appropriately amongst staff to ensure the task is moving forward in a timely manner
- Clearly represent and communicate concepts and ideas graphically in the form of drawings or diagrams
- Effectively and proactively communicate with internal and external parties
- Possesses situational awareness when it comes to urgency levels for responses to external parties
- Perform code research independently
- Lead and plan projects appropriately and independently, assign work to internal staff and budget time, review progress, provide quality checks and markups, meet deadlines, and communicate progress as needed or directed by the Associate or Principal to external parties
- Understand and track project progress, financial status, scope, deliverables/ milestones, risks to exceeding scope, and effectively communicate updates or alerts to Associate and/ or Principal. Assist with billing review.
Required Skills: - Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented and able to self-check work and work of other staff effectively
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field
- A minimum of five (5) years of full-time AEC experience; Project Manager II- minimum six (6) years full-time AEC experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Bluebeam Revu
- Licensure in architecture or engineering
Preferred Qualifications: - Master's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field
- Architecture License is preferred
- Prior full-time building envelope experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, LBNL Therm/ Window/ Optics, Revit, Rhino
- Experience and expertise with a variety of building envelope systems and materials
- Seek and nurture client relationships

For this particular position, we expect to hire near the middle of the range. To be considered for this role, we are looking for candidates with a minimum of five (5) years of full-time AEC experience; Project Manager II- minimum six (6) years full-time AEC experience, Master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field is preferred having an Architecture License is also preferred.
We understand that there may be rare and exceptional circumstances where an external candidate has experience, credentials, or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position. In these cases, we may consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
