ABOUT THE POSITION : Purpose: To manage the student ecumenical journal hearhere
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The following are the essential duties and responsibilities the incumbent must be able to perform.
- Plan and facilitate weekly editorial meetings and joint work sessions with the design team.
- Oversees proofing and physical production of the journal, collaborate in layout with the managing designer.
- Write at least one piece per semester and provide final editing and oversight of all pieces prior to publication.
- Train incoming editorial members in editing and writing as needed.
- Communicate with the chaplains, faculty, and manage collaboration with other journals.
- Oversee organizational finances and assist the director of operations in managing the club budget.
- Attend weekly executive meetings and uphold other duties as assigned.

- Excellent planning, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Flexible, organized, creative, energetic spirit
- Experience working with undergraduate and graduate student population
- Capable of working both independently and as part of a team
- Possess the ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments
- Understanding of how social media can be used in the promotion of events and services
- Other required knowledge, skills, or competencies
- Preferred Qualifications: The following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience working on a journal.
- Experience working with diverse student populations, including students of color, students with disabilities, low-income and/or first-generation students, international students, members of the LGTBQ+ community, etc.
- Knowledge about interfaith resources and best practices.
Work Schedule: The regular hours for this position are up to 9 hours per week. Regular hours may vary due to needs of the organization or business unit.
COMPENSATION Pay: $16.00 per hour.
