JOB SUMMARY
The primary focus of this role is providing exceptional guest experiences and sell Alpha Omega Collective wines by positively and enthusiastically sharing winery history and stories about the wines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

•  Acts as a role model and provides exceptional private tastings while hosting tables throughout the shift
•  Greets and serves guests and provides a memorable and educational tasting experience
•  Pours and serves wine to guests in individual and group settings
•  Performs tasting room opening and closing duties by following daily operating procedures
•  Promotes a positive and collegial atmosphere in the Tasting Room
•  Maintains and increases guest retention and Club memberships
•  Creates and maintains a favorable image of the Winery
•  Increases profitability through wine sales
•  Follows visitation and membership policies to ensure guest satisfaction
•  Checks guests’ legal ID to ensure they are of legal age to consume alcohol and monitors guest service to prevent excessive alcohol consumption
•  Ensures compliance with regulations regarding wine service
•  Answers phones and enters tasting room reservations in system
•  Effectively operates the point of sale (POS) system
•  Assists in maintaining the overall appearance of the tasting room
•  Assists the Event Team during special events, Wine Club parties, VIP lunches, off site tastings and other events
•  Keeps wine stocked and labeled and non-wine merchandise stocked and folded with clear pricing
•  Assists with or enters daily Tasting Room inventory

•  Ability to walk and carry items simultaneously over flat and uneven surfaces
•  Ability to show up on time and ready to work at the start of each shift

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•  21 years of age or older
•  Responsible Beverage Service training certificate
•  Restaurant or hospitality experience is desirable

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical requirements listed are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions and key responsibilities of this position. Reasonable accommodation may be made upon request and in appropriate circumstances.
The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner at all times. Occasional use and operation of computer and other office equipment and the ability to stand for long periods of time. The employee is required to frequently climb stairs, squat, bend, lift, twist, pull, push, carry, grasp, reach and stoop as needed, and to repeatedly lift and carry items up to 50 pounds. Continuous walking 8+ hours a day on varying surfaces is necessary to serve customers. The employee must have the hand/eye coordination and agility required to pour, carry and serve beverages in carafes, bottles or in fragile glassware such as a wine glass. The employee must be able to walk at least 40 yards over uneven ground between work locations. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The work environment is primarily a retail one in which the employee will be interacting with the public. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. Work will require working indoors in the tasting room and outdoors on the patio, or at outdoor events and may be subjected to inclement weather such as rain or wind. Weekend and/or evening work is required.
